OUT OF RESPECT FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS
The Excelsior Hotel Ernst has been family-owned for five generations. For this reason, we feel an obligation to future generations and see sustainability and careful use of resources as an important contribution to the preservation of our environment.

Hotel
- Use of eco-certifiied detergents
- Use of LED light sources where possible
- Strict waste separation in all areas of the hotels
- Internal communications delivered mainly electronically
- Own beehive on the hotel roof to promote biodiversity
Rooms
- Soap recycling in partnership with reBubble – the social soap
- Use of SuitePads for room service orders instead of printed menu cards
- Refillable dispensers for shower gel, shampoo and soap in the rooms
- Daily change of towels & bed linen only on request
Restaurants
- Natural cork recycling project in cooperation with NABU. Proceeds go to crane protection
- Sustainable food purchasing (meat from animals raised in a species-appropriate manner, and where possible use of local products)
- “Using the whole product” is the philosophy of our kitchen teams
Green Meetings
- Use of regional and local products
- Use of fair trade coffee and tea
- All devices will be switched off by a staff member during every break
- No use of notepads, coasters or paper napkins
- Use of 100 % recycled paper for flip charts
